Bringing Green Spaces to City Life

“I believe everyone deserves a little patch of green. My passion is finding creative ways to make that happen in the heart of the city.”
Dalton S Prickett

Our Story

My journey into urban gardening began not in a sprawling countryside, but on a modest balcony overlooking the vibrant streets of Columbia, SC. With a degree in Horticulture from Clemson University, I found myself drawn to the challenge and potential of small spaces. It was here, amongst a growing collection of pots and trellises, that I truly understood the profound impact a personal green sanctuary could have on city living.

The 'aha!' moment arrived when friends and neighbors, seeing the transformation of my own limited space, started asking for help. They possessed a deep desire to connect with nature, to grow fresh herbs or simply enjoy a beautiful outdoor retreat, but were unsure how to navigate the constraints of urban environments. There was a clear need for someone who could blend horticultural knowledge with creative design, specifically for balconies, rooftops, and micro-gardens in our unique South Carolina climate.

This realization sparked the founding of Dalton S Prickett. My mission became clear: to empower Columbia residents to cultivate their own beautiful, sustainable, and functional green spaces, no matter their square footage. Every design is a tailored solution, combining aesthetics with practicality, and always considering the specific needs of our local ecosystem.
